The performance by the collective Shapes of Emergence, “Water Organoids,” is a sensory and poetic exploration of the memory of matter, centered around water. Under a macroscope, shapes emerge as musicians synchronize with the movements of the material. This embodies the interdependence between nature and creation. The immersive film projected in fulldome gives the sensation of being at the heart of a living organism in transformation. Influenced by jazz and experimental music from Chicago, “Water Organoids” had its world premiere at the International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA) in Paris in May 2023, and has since been featured in several international events.
